Bergen County is located in the heart of northern New Jersey, on the west side of the Hudson River, just 12 miles west of Manhattan. It is bordered to the north by Rockland County, New York and to the west by Passaic County, New Jersey. To the south and east it is bordered by Essex County and Hudson County respectively.
