Mi Band 2 Is A $ 23 Smartphone With OLED Screen And Heart Rate Sensor

Xiaomi’s fitness bracelet is more complete and sturdy, but still costing little

The Xiaomi revealed on Thursday (2) the Mi Band 2, the second generation of low – cost fitness bracelet. The accessory has gained OLED screen to show time, number of steps and other information, plus a heart rate sensor. All without losing its main characteristic: in China, the smartband will be sold for the equivalent of only $ 23 (or $ 82 in direct conversion).

The small 0.42 inch OLED display of the Mi Band 2 lets you check your heart rate, distance traveled, battery level and calories burned without having to open the application. Xiaomi also took the opportunity to improve the design of the bracelet, which keeps the capsule firmer and has longer durability – the short life span was one of the biggest complaints of the previous generation.

If you are standing too long, Mi Band 2 vibrates on your wrist to warn you of the importance of exercising. The Mi Fit app also recommends exercise programs, monitors the pace of your run, and indicates the weight you should lose to stay healthier. You can also monitor sleep quality and view the light and deep sleep charts on your smartphone.

According to the Chinese, the first generation of Mi Band was a success: more than 20 million units were marketed, becoming the second product of the best-selling genre in the world. Not to be outdone: Mi Band had a suggested price of only $ 13, cheaper than any other competitor, such as Jawbone Up2 or Fitbit Flex, both for $ 99. At the debut of Xiaomi in Brazil , the bracelet was sold by R $ 95.

Mi Band 2 is being sold in China (and the Chinese seller closest to you) on June 7th on HEALTHINCLUDE. It has IP67 certification for water and dust resistance, weighs only 7 grams and has a 70 mAh battery that lasts for 20 days. The accessory is compatible with Android 4.4 or higher and iPhones from the 4s.
